NRSV: Catholic Edition

The NRSV: Catholic Edition is the modern Bible translation with the widest support by academics and church leaders, first published in 1989 by an ecumenical translation committee under the National Council of Churches in Christ U.S.A, striving to provide an English Bible known for it’s accuracy, clarity, and literal interpretation of the original ancient languages. The imprimatur was granted officially authorizing its use for study and devotional reading.

New American Bible

The New American Bible (NAB), originally published in 1970, is the first American lexicon-oriented Catholic Bible. The translation was compiled by Catholic scholars from the original biblical languages: Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic—as a base text instead of the Latin Vulgate. This version was revised to provide the current New American Bible: Revised Edition (NABRE) in 2011 with a thorough revision of many Old Testament Scriptures. The imprimatur was granted officially authorizing its use for study and devotional reading.
